The Balkanski-Panitza Institute for Advanced Study (BPIAS) is an international non-profit organization dedicated to
the promotion of innovation and excellence in sciences, technology, humanities and social studies. The Institute was established by prominent European and American academics gathered in Fourges, France, on 20 June 2011, under the inspiration of Dimi Panitza.

The goal of the institute is to promote outstanding research at institutions across Bulgaria, to enhance cooperation among disciplines and scholars, to create new opportunities and enhance perspectives in the areas of both sciences and social studies. To achieve this goal, BPIAS organizes (among other) a high-profile annual  Summer School in Economics.

The summer school will include a series of core lectures on Innovation, New Trade, and New Growth, as well as presentations on applied topics from leading industry experts.
